The Managing the Student Life Cycle eLearn provides a comprehensive overview of each phase in a student’s journey within Ready Student. Covering essential functions from enrolment and communication, this course equips you with the tools to effectively manage and support students throughout their entire lifecycle. It’s an ideal starting point for new users who want to understand the foundational processes of Ready Student after the initial system configuration.
The Onboarding Education series is a collection of eLearn courses designed to guide you through the fundamentals of Ready Student, taking you from zero product knowledge to confidently completing your standard national reports. This series has been thoughtfully developed to equip you with the essential skills needed to effectively manage your institution's operations within Ready Student.
Certain eLearn courses within the series may be more relevant to specific roles within your organisation. While some users may benefit from completing the entire series, others may only need to focus on particular modules based on their responsibilities. Please note that system configuration, as covered in Configuring Ready Student, must be completed before starting courses related to event setup and management. This applies to new setups; if your organisation is already established in Ready Student, you can proceed with the modules most relevant to your role.

To complete this eLearn, you will require:
Access to the Student Management System, including URL, username and password
Curriculum management setup, including program and units
Site configuration completed including but not limited to Locations and RTO details.
A test student for enrolling and recording attendance against
USI configured
At least one Course set up
A basic understanding of system navigation
A basic understanding of how to create Courses
Throughout the eLearn, you will explore:
Different parts of the student life cycle, includes managing student USIs, the enrolment wizard, marking attendance and outcomes, and completing students.
Options around communication within the system
After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:
Create and manage a student enrolment.
Understand how to record both attendance and Results for a student
How to issue a Certificate
Understand how to use and create notes and checklist items
Send SMS’s and Emails from the system
Create templates to use for communication within the system
This eLearn is designed for administrative users involved in student management, reporting, and communication, offering the tools and knowledge to support students effectively from enrolment through to reporting. Please note that to complete this eLearn, site configuration should first be completed as outlined in Configuring Ready Student elearn, and course setups as described in Course and events eLearn are also helpful. However, if these tasks aren’t part of your responsibilities, you can proceed with this eLearn if these configurations have been completed for your organisation.
